  Hokukoku Food Co., Ltd. was established in June 1968 in Awasaki-cho, Kanazawa with a capital of 4 million yen. The headquarters factory was constructed in September 1971, followed by a capital increase to 10 million yen in July 1974. The company established an affiliated enterprise, Shinkō Industries, in September 1976 and increased capital to 15 million yen in March 1977. In December 1981, the company acquired approximately 9,500 square meters of land in the Matsutani Industrial Park in Hakusan City. The Matsuashina Factory No. 1 was completed in June 1987, relocating the freeze-drying division. Matsuashina Factory No. 2 was completed in June 1995, followed by a capital increase to 20 million yen in March 1998. A warehouse was added to the Matsuashina Factory premises in January 2000, and the sales division was relocated to the Matsuashina Factory in May 2001. Matsuashina Factory No. 3 was completed in October 2002 to expand freeze-drying operations. In March 2017, Takahiro Satō assumed the position of Representative Director.
