  Founded in 1923 as Ogura Shoten in Tsuruhashi, Ikuno Ward, Osaka, serving as a cooperative factory for Lion Corporation, the company was incorporated as Taiyo Shasshi Co., Ltd. in November 1946. The company established its development division in 1964 and began in-house development of automatic machinery. In 1966, it developed and launched the TA-type automatic filament cutting machine for domestic and export sales. Taiyo Shasshi commenced interdental brush manufacturing in 1997 and developed an interdental brush inspection device in 2001. The company relocated to a new headquarters in Higashinada Ward, Kobe in 2005. In 2013, it obtained ISO9001 certification and established a Vietnamese subsidiary. The original brand 'mon seule' was launched in 2020, and the company celebrated its centennial in 2023.
