本原料について
カイコ（Bombyx mori）の繭から抽出される水溶性絹タンパク質。フィブロイン（繊維用絹）抽出の歴史的な副産物だったが、セリシンの高セリン含有量（約30％）は、スキンケア処方に強力な皮膜形成および保湿特性をもたらす。日本の絹産業（群馬、長野、埼玉に集中）は、2000年代以降、JAシルクや残存する小規模養蚕協同組合の繭を使用して高グレードセリシン生産を中心に再構築されてきた。保湿剤、ヘアケア、および増加する注射用・創傷ケア医療用途に使用される。
