  Myojo Sanshō Co., Ltd. was established in January 1968 as a specialized manufacturer and distributor of gift tissue paper. The company expanded with the establishment of its first factory in Kamo, Kōchi, Kōchi Prefecture in May 1969, followed by the Fuji No. 1 Factory in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture in February 1974. The Clean Wet Factory (No. 2 Factory) was opened in May 1988. In October 1988, the Kōchi Factory obtained cosmetics manufacturing license, followed by quasi-drug manufacturing license in February 1989 and pharmaceutical manufacturing license in January 1999. ISO 9002 certification was obtained in March 2000, and the Okayama Factory was established in Okayama, Okayama Prefecture in April 2000. ISO 9001 certification was acquired in December 2003, ISO 14001 in May 2005. The head office and Kōchi Factory relocated to Okoyuki, Nankoku, Kōchi Prefecture in August 2012. Building No. 2 of the head office and Kōchi Factory opened in April 2017, and the Okayama Asakuchi Factory was established in Asakuchi, Okayama Prefecture in August 2019. Building No. 3 of the head office and Kōchi Factory opened in May 2021. ISO 22716 certification was obtained in October 2023, and solar power generation equipment commenced operations at the Okayama Asakuchi Factory in March 2025.
