  Established in February 1987 as Nichinichiiyokuten Co., Ltd., the company began operations at its first plant and launched Protesun in September. The second plant commenced operations in June 1990. In 1991, collaborative research with multiple universities began. The company changed its name to Nichinichikyoyaku Co., Ltd. in February 1993, and established its Osaka Business Division in April. A patent for a hepatitis C treatment was acquired in 1997, followed by the launch of Tisafelna in 1998. Collaborative research with multiple medical institutions and several pharmaceutical patents were established in 1999. In 2000, collaborative research with Kyoto University and other institutions began. The Tokyo Business Division was established in March 2004, and the Chubu Division in January 2006. Tuyatt was launched in 2011 and Zu~tto in 2013. In February 2018, the facility received HACCP methodology certification from the Mie Prefecture Governor. In April 2022, an endowed chair was established at Osaka Metropolitan University.
