  Founded in August 1966 as Tokunaga Chikusan Shokuhin in Oshima-cho, Imizu County, Toyama Prefecture, the company began processing and wholesaling pork offal. Tokunaga Shokuhin Co., Ltd. was formally established in April 1969 with a capital of 10 million yen. In April 1975, the company began purchasing and selling frozen foods. In April 1985, the head office was renovated and freezer capacity was expanded. Management transitioned to the next generation in April 1992. A new factory was constructed in Kitatakaigi, Imizu (current location) in April 1998, establishing manufacturing lines. A skewer-making line was added in May 1999. An automatic vacuum packaging machine was introduced in February 2007, followed by a computer scale in December 2008. Major manufacturing line reconfiguration took place in March 2009. A generational transition to the third generation occurred in October 2010, with ISO9001 certification obtained in December 2010. The head office relocated to Kitatakaigi in May 2013, and a direct shop opened on Rakuten Ichiba in June 2013. An automatic vending machine was installed at a railway station in February 2022. The company commenced manufacturing prepared ready-to-eat side dishes in June 2024.
