  The company was founded in 1887 as Kimura Yataro Shoten in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. In 1950, Yamaki Corporation (株式会社彌満喜) was established and private brand products were launched. The company underwent significant expansion in 1967 when it reorganized into Yamajin Corporation (株式会社彌満仁) in Ehime Prefecture to fully enter manufacturing operations, followed by the establishment of Yamaki Canned Foods Corporation (株式会社彌満喜缶詰) in Kyoto in 1969. In 1991, the company changed its name to Best Planet Corporation. Subsequently, the company obtained a patent for bonito flake production methods in 1997, initiated traceability product sales in 2004, completed its comprehensive dried food factory and executed a corporate consolidation in 2005, obtained ISO22000 certification in 2007, launched e-commerce operations in 2010, began experimental cultivation of wood ear mushrooms in 2015, acquired organic JAS certification in 2019, and established an agricultural legal entity in 2020. In September 2024, the affiliated agricultural corporation changed its name to Best Farm Corporation.
