  Ishii Food Co., Ltd. was established in May 1945, with operations commencing in January 1946 in tsukudani (preserved food) manufacturing. In August 1961, the company constructed a vacuum-packed simmered beans factory in Yachiyo, Chiba Prefecture. The company was listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in December 1962. In April 1970, it launched 'Chicken Hamburger,' the industry's first ready-to-eat hamburger product. Meatballs for bento boxes were introduced in July 1974. In April 1997, Ishii Food began its initiative to eliminate food additives from products. The company introduced an ingredient traceability management system in August 2000 and initiated web disclosure of product information through 'OPEN ISHII' in December 2001. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications were obtained between 2002 and 2004, followed by ISO 22000 certification in May 2008. In July 2012, a dedicated food allergy consideration factory was constructed at the Kyotamba facility. The company is scheduled to transition to the latest version ISO certification in September 2025.
