  Founded in 1969 as Tamura Shoten Corporation, the company was established as a legal entity in 1973 and began selling seasonings as an authorized distributor of Ajinomoto. The company name was changed to Tamura Corporation in 1980. A packaging and processing factory was established in Tano-tsu, Higashi Ward, Fukuoka in 1987, followed by a consolidation and relocation of headquarters and factory to Uchibasshi, Kasuyacho, Kasuyagun in 1989. In 1995, Tamura began selling freeze-dried products as the Kyushu regional distributor for Amano Industries. The headquarters was relocated to its current location in Tano-tsu, Higashi Ward, Fukuoka in 2003. In 2010, Yasuhiro Tamura assumed the position of Representative Director and President, and the company launched operations on Rakuten Ichiba. A freeze-dried production facility (Umi Factory) was established in Umi in 2020. The company began offering local specialty tax donation sales in 2022 and launched its own e-commerce website in 2025.
