  Founded as Suiseisha in Somagawa, Toyama in May 1896, the company was reorganized as Suida Carbonated Beverage Co., Ltd. in 1921. In 1930, it launched Mister-style ball ramune and Labonza cider. Following the destruction of its factory in the Toyama air raids of 1945, ramune production resumed in 1946. Tombo Beverage Co., Ltd. was established in October 1962 with a new factory constructed in Shimoacakae-machi, Toyama. Shanmerry (originally called Soft Champagne) production began in 1965. The company entered into a franchise agreement with Royal Crown Cola in 1972 and a contract manufacturing agreement with Kyowa Hakko Kogyo (now Kyowa Kirin) in 1980. One-way bottle ramune mass production equipment was completed in 1993, followed by the completion of a third factory in 1998. Balance Co., Ltd. was established in 2000. ISO9001:2000 certification was obtained in 2002, ISO22000:2005 in 2011, and FSSC22000 certification in 2013, with Celebre launched the same year. JIA-GMP certification was acquired in 2018. The sales division was consolidated in 2022, and the company's founding anniversary date of May 10 was officially established in 2024.
