Terms of Service

Tokyo Shelf Report is a monthly English-language subscription publication observing cosmetics retail, rankings, and brand announcements in Japan. The service is delivered by email as a PDF, with an accompanying CSV data sheet for applicable plans.

A subscription is considered active once payment for the selected plan has been confirmed. The first issue is delivered on the next scheduled delivery date following payment confirmation — the first business day of the following month.

Starter and Pro plans are billed monthly with no minimum term. Enterprise plans are billed annually.

All content delivered as part of Tokyo Shelf Report, including text, data, imagery, and layout, is owned by Tokyo Shelf Report and protected under applicable copyright law.

Internal sharing is permitted within the subscriber's organization up to the reader limit specified in the applicable plan. Subscribers may quote from the report in internal and client-facing materials with attribution.

Public redistribution, resale, or repackaging of the full PDF or significant portions thereof is not permitted without prior written consent.

Subscribers may cancel at any monthly renewal point for Starter and Pro plans, or at the end of the annual term for Enterprise plans. No cancellation fees apply.

Issues already delivered remain the property of the subscriber. Cancellation takes effect from the next unbilled renewal period.

Tokyo Shelf Report is a factual observation report. It does not contain forecasts, predictions, recommendations, or investment advice.

While we strive for accuracy, the service is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Subscribers are solely responsible for any decisions made based on the content of the report.

Tokyo Shelf Report is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the report.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers by email. Continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
