  Founded in 1948 as Wakamatsu Yushi Kagaku Kogyo-sho in Joto Ward, Osaka, producing and selling candles; began manufacturing and selling toothbrushes in 1958 and incorporated as a company; established Fine Co., Ltd. in October 1973; changed company name from Wakamatsu Sangyo Co., Ltd. to Fine Co., Ltd. in 1975; established a division for clinical instruments and medical environmental hygiene materials in 1978; began development and manufacturing of adhesive rodent traps in 1982; launched the 'Revo' series of care products in 1997; launched 'Ecott' biodegradable resin toothbrushes, Japan's first of its kind, in 1998.
