Company History of Hizatsuki Confectionery Co., Ltd.

  Founded in 1923 by Takehira Hirazuki as a rice cracker manufacturer, the company was established as Hirazuki Shouten Co., Ltd. in 1965. A new factory was constructed in 1970, followed by a name change to Hirazuki Seika Co., Ltd. in 1972. The company opened its flagship store "Buheisaku Dango" in 1975 to commemorate its 50th anniversary. In 1984, the product "Jouheki" won the Honorable Governor-General Award at the 20th National Confectionery Grand Exposition. The shrimp cracker "Ebisenbei" was launched in 1994, and the company changed its name to Hirazuki Seika Co., Ltd. in 1995. In 2001, the third-generation president Takeo Hirazuki assumed office. The head office factory relocated to Tochigi City in 2004. The company obtained FSSC22000 certification in 2017 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023, when "Ebisenbei" won the Grand Prix at the 60th Japan Food Selection.
