Company History of Powerful Health Foods Co., Ltd.

  Powerful Health Food Co., Ltd. began preparation for establishment in 1976 following successful artificial cultivation of ganoderma lucidum. In 1977, the company established an artificial ganoderma lucidum cultivation system, and in 1979, introduced cultivation technology from Kyoto University's Food Chemistry Research Center. The company was officially incorporated in January 1982 as a joint organic food company. The artificial lentinula edodes cultivation system was established in 1987, with the lentinula edodes cultivation factory commencing operations in 1989. In 1992, the company successfully developed cell wall-breaking technology for ganoderma lucidum, obtained a patent for cell wall-breaking in March 1996, and began full-scale manufacturing. The company name was changed to Powerful Health Food Co., Ltd. in June 1996. In September 1998, the Shinano-cho branch was established and the Shinano-cho third factory was completed. The company obtained certification as a canned and bottled food manufacturer in December 2000, and acquired a patent for agaricus blazei cell wall-breaking in October 2002. The Tokyo office opened in July 2003. In January 2005, the headquarters and Shinano-cho factory obtained ISO9001 certification, followed by ISO22000 certification in January 2007. The company acquired health supplement GMP certification in 2010.
