Company History of TOA Corporation

Founded in 1912 by Yoshiomi Kanzaki, Kinryuen began manufacturing and selling cosmetics under the Rosen-Shirao trademark. After the factory was destroyed by war damage in 1945, the company transitioned to contract manufacturing in the postwar period. In April 1952, it was reorganized as Kinryuen Corporation. In June 1968, it entered into a business partnership with Colmar Laboratories in the United States. A new factory in Yao was established in May 1970, followed by the company's name change to Nihon Colmar Corporation in May 1972. The headquarters relocated to Fushimi-cho, Chuo Ward, Osaka in April 1980, with the establishment of the Kashiwara Factory. Colmar Korea was established in May 1990, and the Izumo Factory was newly constructed in June 1990. Comar Cosmetics (Suzhou) was established in October 1997. The Shizuoka Factory was newly constructed in January 2014, the Yuki Factory in October 2016, the Iga Factory in August 2017, and the Hiroshima Factory in October 2017. Colmar Vietnam and Comar Cosmetics (Hangzhou) were established in June 2018. In June 2024, Nihon Colmar Corporation was renamed to TOA Corporation with headquarters relocation. A partnership with the Tokiwa Group commenced in July 2024. A new Yuki Factory is scheduled for completion in March 2025.
