  Founded in 1919 when Kunishiro Kawabashi resigned from Nakayama Taiyo-do, the company established Kitao Cosmetics Co., Ltd. in 1930. A cosmetics factory was built in China in 1933, but in-service assets were lost following Japan's defeat in 1945. Bisho Chemical Co., Ltd. was established in December 1972 as a specialized OEM manufacturer, obtaining cosmetics manufacturing license in May 1973. The company increased its capital to 15 million yen in October 1973 and to 25 million yen in October 1980. Nobuyuki Kawabashi assumed the position of representative director in October 1984, and the company obtained quasi-drug manufacturing license in February 1989, followed by cosmetics import and sales license in February 1994. Hideo Kawabashi became representative director in November 2000, and the company obtained cosmetics and quasi-drug manufacturing division license in June 2002. ISO9001:2000 certification was acquired in November 2003, and cosmetics and quasi-drug manufacturing and sales license was obtained in 2005. The Neyagawa Plant was newly established in December 2018.
