  Founded in 1880 (Meiji 13) with a transition from sake brewing to miso and soy sauce production, Taihei Corporation was incorporated as Taihei Jozogyo Kogyo Corporation in 1951 (Showa 26), renamed to Taihei Shoyu Corporation in 1956, and established Taihei Nutrition Research Institute in 1962 to begin Cooking Depot sales. Following business diversification, the company was renamed Taihei Corporation in 1968. The Family Set business was rolled out nationwide in 1974, and by 1979, the sales network was nearly complete across the country. The company began cut vegetable operations in 1987, completed a condiment factory in 2000, opened the Kumagaya Plant in 2014, and merged with Taihei Electronics and Taiga Industries in 2015. In 2020, Taihei Corporation celebrated its 140th anniversary, and in 2025, opened the Hyogo Plant while marking its 145th anniversary.
