  Founded in 1924 in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture as a bean paste manufacturer, the company resumed azuki bean production in 1946 and established Kitagawa Seianzaisho Ltd. in 1951. The factory relocated from Sukuji-cho to Takago-cho in Takasaki in 1970, and the company transitioned to Seiwa Foods with the launch of prepared dishes and pickled vegetable production in 1981. Retort food production including oden and motsu-ni commenced in 1990, followed by a new retort processing facility in 1991. The company was reorganized as Seiwa Foods Corporation in 1992. A product warehouse and raw material warehouse were constructed in 1999, with the main factory expanded in 2001. The company obtained ISO9001 certification and established an inspection laboratory in 2003, followed by recognition under Gunma Prefecture's Business Innovation Support Law in 2005 and establishment of a prototype development room. In 2007, it was recognized as One Company, One Technology by Gunma Prefecture's Manufacturing Initiative, and obtained organic JAS processing certification in 2008.
