  Shō-Bi Corporation was established in December 1949 in Higashisumiyoshi Ward, Osaka. In May 1960, the company began transactions with Daiei, expanding its distribution channels to general merchandise supermarkets. In May 1975, it invested in Pioneona Ornament (later Pionia Inc.). In June 1996, Shō-Bi acquired shares of Tsubaki Corporation and succeeded the Sanrio license agreement. In July 1999, it concluded a license agreement with The Walt Disney Company Japan. In May 2001, Pearlstone Corporation was made a subsidiary, and in April 2003, Tsubaki Pionia Inc. was established. The company commenced operations in China in 2005. In 2006, it underwent a change of corporate name, business integration, and relocated its head office to Tokyo. In January 2008, the company changed its name to Shō-Bi Corporation. Between 2009 and 2011, it was listed sequentially on JASDAQ, the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, and the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In January 2012, the head office was relocated to Minato Ward. Since then, the company has continued to pursue acquisitions and integration of group enterprises, business restructuring, and market classification changes.
