  Kenmin Food Corporation traces its origins to March 1950 when Kenmin Trading Company commenced rice vermicelli manufacturing in Kobe. The company established the Kamigori Funasaka Factory in Ako County, Hyogo Prefecture in April 1956, and incorporated as Kenmin Trading Co., Ltd. in September 1957. In 1960, the company launched instant fried rice vermicelli, opened a Tokyo branch office, and established the Kamigori Sakaimachi Factory. Following a name change to Kenmin Food Corporation in September 1964, the company expanded with a Kyushu branch office (1966), Nagoya liaison office (1971), and began Chinese tea processing and sales (1977) with a Hiroshima liaison office. A new factory opened in Tanba Sasayama in November 1978, followed by the launch of frozen food manufacturing in April 1982. The company opened its flagship fast-casual Chinese restaurant chain "Yun Yun" in August 1985 and established a Thai factory in December 1987. Subsequent milestones include relocation to a new head office (1995), opening of company-operated restaurants (1995), launch of internet sales platform (1999), establishment of Chinese and Thai facilities (2003), introduction of rice pasta (March 2008), and recognition of the Sasayama Factory with the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Award (October 2012). Further expansion includes the establishment of Fuji Kenmin Foods (February 2017), Guinness World Record recognition and gluten-free product launch (2020), and the opening of a U.S. subsidiary and the "Baifun Future Factory" in January 2024.
