Company History of Tsuboichi Seicha Honpo Co., Ltd.

  Founded in 1850 by Ichihyoe Tanamoto under the name Tsubomichi, the company initially engaged in tea trade and wholesale business in Sennan, Sakai. After the original Sakai facility was destroyed by war damage in September 1945, operations resumed at the new headquarters relocated to Takaishi. In 1970, fourth-generation owner Yozo Tanamoto began importing Taiwanese tea, pioneering the introduction of oolong tea to Japan. In 2006, fifth-generation owner Junichi Tanamoto established a second factory and obtained ISO9001 and organic JAS certifications. In May 2011, the company became the first in the industry to obtain the Osaka Food Safety and Quality Assurance Certification.
