Company History of Union Chemical Co., Ltd.

1. Union Chemcar Inc. was founded in 1905 by Yasuke Kosaka
2. beginning production of Japanese-style carbon paper. The company was incorporated as Carbon Paper Co.
3. Ltd. in 1920 and commenced manufacturing of Western-style carbon paper. In 1950
4. it developed and began producing back-coated carbonless copy paper. The company developed and produced NCR paper "Unicoat" in 1962
5. followed by "Hicopy" in 1963. Computer terminal ribbons were introduced in 1971
6. the same year the head office relocated to Hirakata
7. Osaka. Thermal ribbon production started in 1983
8. and the company changed its name to Union Chemcar Inc. in 1986. International expansion began with the establishment of a UK office in 1989
