Company History of Yamamori Co., Ltd.

Founded in 1889 by Sentaro Mitsubayashi as a miso and soy sauce brewing business in Kuwana, the company reorganized as Yamamori Food & Brewing Co., Ltd. in 1951. The company launched its signature seasoned tsuyu product in 1965, introduced Japan's first pouch-type liquid soup in 1967, developed Japan's first retort-packaged seasoned rice base in 1969, and launched Japan's first straight tsuyu in 1973. The company changed its name to Yamamori Corporation in 1988, established Yamamori Trading in 1995, and constructed a brewing factory in Thailand in 1996. In 2017, Yamamori's GABA soy sauce became the first soy sauce product to receive approval as a functional food ingredient, and Yamamori Vietnam Co., Ltd. was established in 2025.
