  Established in November 1969 as Cosmo Chemical Co., Ltd. In May 1974, the company name was changed to Cosmo Foods Co., Ltd. and business objectives were added. The Kanto Plant began operation in April 1975, and the Hokkaido Plant in January 1991. The Hokkaido Plant's Second Plant was completed in July 1999. In January 2002, the Hokkaido Plant obtained ISO9001:2000 certification, and in February 2003 the head office's ISO9001 registration was expanded. The Food Technology Room at the Hokkaido Plant was completed in August 2005, and the new Third Plant at the Hokkaido Plant in April 2006. In November 2008, the company received the Grand Prize in the Food Division of the Hokkaido New Technology and New Product Development Awards. In November 2010, the Hokkaido Plant obtained Food Additive GMP certification. In October 2012, the company received the Hokkaido Invention Association President's Award. In December 2013, all sites obtained ISO9001:2008 certification, and in June 2016, Hokkaido HACCP certification was obtained. In December 2017, the company was selected as a "Regional Future-Leading Company" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. In January 2018, certification was migrated to ISO9001:2015. The Hokkaido Second Plant was completed in January 2019. In January 2020, the company name was changed to Cosmo Inc., the IT solutions business launched in September, and the head office relocated to Nihonbashi-Ningyocho in October.
