  Founded as Kawasumi Foods Industrial Co., Ltd. in July 1950, Komi Corporation established its headquarters factory in Higashi Ward, Nagoya in August of the same year. The company began manufacturing and selling tomato ketchup in July 1951. The Toyohashi Factory was constructed in May 1963 with the tomato ketchup division relocated there, followed by the opening of the Tokyo Sales Office in April 1964. The company changed its trade name to Komi Corporation in July 1967 and built the Inuyama Factory in December 1968 to relocate its sauce division. The Osaka Sales Office opened in April 1972, and vegetable juice and tomato beverage canned goods production commenced in June 1986. Komi Corporation relocated to a new headquarters building in Higashi Ward, Nagoya in December 1987 and began manufacturing soft drink canned goods in July 1988. The tomato ketchup line at the Toyohashi Factory achieved full automation in November 1992, with the canned goods line automation completed in September 1993. A craft beer manufacturing facility was constructed and began operations in December 1996 (closed in December 2002). In August 2012, a business cooperation agreement was signed with Numata Town in Hokkaido, leading to the launch of Komi Kita no Hotaru Factory Co., Ltd. in April 2021. In June 2024, the company celebrated the 50th anniversary of its thick soy sauce sauce.
