  Founded in 1964 with capital of 2 million yen in Sonenosaki-shinchi, Kita Ward, Osaka, Nikkenfood expanded with the commencement of the Osaka Factory in 1969 and relocated its headquarters to Nishi-nakajima, Yodogawa Ward, Osaka in 1973. The first phase of the Shizuoka Factory was completed in 1976, followed by the establishment of the current headquarters in Haruoka, Fukui City, Shizuoka Prefecture in March 1982. The third phase of the Shizuoka Factory was completed in 1984, establishing the headquarters-factory structure. The Food Future Research Institute was completed in 1987, and the Headquarters Tea Factory in 1995. International expansion began with the establishment of Taiwan Nikkenfood Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Nikkenfood Co., Ltd. in 1996, followed by Thai Nikkenfood Enterprise in 2005 and Nikkenfood USA in 2007. ISO14001 certification was obtained in 2008. In 2011, the Headquarters Extract New Factory was completed and ISO22000/FSSC22000 certifications were acquired, alongside the establishment of Thai Nikkenfood. The Headquarters Tea New Factory and Thai Nikkenfood Factory were completed in 2012. Full-scale production using continuous subcritical water extraction equipment commenced in 2017. A vacuum drum dryer was introduced and organic JAS certification was obtained in 2023. The company marked its 60th anniversary in 2024.
