  Founded in 1830 (Tenpo 1), Sawada Sake Brewery began sake production in 1889 and established the foundation of its health food business in 1935. The company was incorporated as Sawada Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. in November 1953. The fifth-generation owner assumed leadership in 1956, followed by the development of plant fermentation extract in 1965. The sake brand 'Kanki-Kou' was launched in 1975. The sixth-generation owner took over in 1984 and established the Sawada Sadako Memorial Music Academy. The Hashimoto Factory commenced operations in 2017 and obtained HACCP System Certification from Wakayama Prefecture in 2022. The seventh-generation owner assumed the position in 2023.
