Company History of Yokoi Brewing Industrial Co., Ltd.

  Founded in 1937 by Kirozaburo Yokoi, who relocated from Gifu to Tokyo and established a partnership company specializing in vinegar production in the Kiba district. The company later incorporated as a stock company and established Chiba Yokoi Brewing Co., Ltd. as a manufacturing subsidiary, introducing state-of-the-art German production facilities. As an industry pioneer, Yokoi Brewing launched drinkable vinegar 'Honey Apple Vinegar' and obtained JAS certification. The company subsequently began manufacturing premium black vinegar 'Makuro-zu' using solid-state fermentation. After relocating its headquarters and Tokyo plant to Shin-Kiba, the Chiba plant underwent expansion with additional large-scale equipment. The company became an organic JAS processed food certified facility (OMIC), implemented HACCP methods under Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries support programs, and appointed Taro Yokoi as president. ISO9001 certification was obtained, followed by the Chiba New First Plant commencing operations. The company received Halal certification from the Japan Asia Halal Association and obtained ISO22000 certification, subsequently relinquishing ISO9001. The Chiba Second Plant was later expanded with additional fermentation equipment.
