  Founded in 1946 by Hisao Matsubara as Matsubara Shoten to manufacture and sell konnyaku products, Kanetsui Bussan Co., Ltd. was established in December 1973 in Mejiro, Toshima Ward, Tokyo. The company began factory operations in Moroyama, Iruma County, Saitama Prefecture in October 1975, and launched the production of raw konnyaku in September 1981. In October 1984, Saladienne (yuzu-flavored) received the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award. Kanetsui Seiichimen Co., Ltd. was established in October 1986 to manufacture fresh ramen. May 29 was designated as "Konnyaku Day" in May 1989. Representative Director Hisao Matsubara received the Yellow Ribbon Medal in April 1994. The Gunma Factory was completed in July 1994, and the company was commended as an excellent tax filer by the Toshima Tax Office in November 1994. The Osaka Sales Office opened in July 1995, and Hisao Matsubara received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Fifth Class in November 1999. Kanetsui Kenkou Mame-Gen Co., Ltd. was established in April 2005 to commence tofu manufacturing and sales. The Kyushu Sales Office opened in March 2006. Hisao Matsubara passed away in August 2009, and Koichi Shirai assumed the position of Representative Director and President in October 2009. The Tohoku Sales Office was established in December 2009. The Saitama Headquarters Administrative Building was expanded in October 2015, and the company was selected for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "Soaring SMEs" initiative in May 2016. The Gunma Factory and Saitama Factory obtained FSSC22000 certification in 2018. Masahiko Goto assumed the position of Representative Director and President in November 2021. The Saitama Moroyama Factory was completed in November 2024, and the operations of Fushimi-ya Co., Ltd. were acquired in October 2025.
