Company History of Fujiyasu Brewing Co., Ltd.

Founded in November 1870 by Kizaemon Fujiyasu III as Fujiyasu Brewing Store in Sumiyoshi-cho, Kagoshima City, the company was incorporated as Fujiyasu Brewing Co., Ltd. in December 1949. Chiyoda Foods Co., Ltd. was established in May 1966, followed by the commencement of original lactic acid bacteria cultivation in August 1979. In December 1980, the factory relocated and Fujiyasu Brewing became the first local manufacturer in Kagoshima Prefecture to introduce computers. In November 1982, Mugi Koji Horeboro received the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award, and in November 1997, Satsuma Mugi Miso received the same award. An amino acid liquid production facility was established in September 2001. The company celebrated its 150th anniversary in November 2020.
