Company History of Koji Shoten Co., Ltd.

  Founded in 1948 by Kiyoshi Onisawa as Koda Fertilizer Store in Hiraisomachi, the company began collecting and selling dried sweet potatoes in 1958. It obtained a government-designated rice and grain collection license in 1965, constructed the Jūsan Bugyō Factory in 1966, and built a potato starch factory in 1968. Rice bran sales commenced in 1969, followed by barley tea production in 1970. The company was incorporated as Koda Shoten Inc. in 1974, established a dried sweet potato packing center in 1997, and built a processing facility in Qingdao, China in 2003. Koda Agriculture Inc. was established in 2010, and a new domestic dried sweet potato packing facility was completed in 2018.
