  In April 1889, Eisuke Suzuki commenced wholesale distribution of daily necessities including sugar, wheat flour starch, sake, and vinegar in Tsukamoto-cho, Hiroshima. The company was formally established as Suzuki Shoten in March 1926. In February 1937, following the merger with Ajinihon Manufacturing Corporation, operations expanded into the manufacture of monosodium glutamate, amino acids, and wheat flour starch. The headquarters relocated to Minami-ku, Hiroshima in March 1950. Management participation by Kyowa Hakko Kogyo commenced in October 1962. The company name was changed to Ajinihon Corporation in March 1965. Nissin Foods' management participation began in August 1971. The company will celebrate its 100th anniversary in March 2026.
