  Tsuruy Seika Co., Ltd. was founded in 1954 as a confectionery retail business in Nishi-Nari Ward, Osaka, and transitioned to confectionery manufacturing in 1959. The company relocated to Uchiyabure, Hirano Ward, Osaka in 1970, and began manufacturing and selling traditional Japanese confectionery gifts in 1979. In 1982, the company shifted entirely to confectionery gift production, launching brands such as "Aji no Oguri" and "Ume no Utage." A filling line was installed at the headquarters factory in 1986, with the jelly gift product "Hohosei Fūki" launched and a factory expansion opened in Tōri-Onono, Sumiyoshi Ward. Additional factory expansion in Tado-Yata, Higashi-Sumiyoshi Ward occurred in 1989, where production lines for manju and mizuyōkan were established in 1991. Kuzu products (kuzu punch) were launched for nationwide distribution in early 2000, followed by "Sakura Pudding" (gift product "Hana no Kai") in spring 2003. The company's "Oishii Mizuyōkan" won the Honor of the Naidaijin Award at the 26th National Confectionery Grand Exhibition in Himeji in May 2008. The new headquarters office relocated to 1-8-55 Uchiyabure-nishi in April 2018, with an auto-presser packaging machine introduced in October 2018. Keisuke Nishizawa assumed the position of president in February 2020, and the company consolidated operations by closing the third factory in September 2020, consolidating operations at the headquarters and Tado-Yata factories. A continuous automatic filling machine was introduced at the Tado-Yata factory in March 2021, and a new factory in Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture was established in February 2024.
