Company History of Nibishi Shoyu Co., Ltd.

Founded in October 1919 as Japan Seasoning Brewing Co., Ltd., the company began soy sauce production at the Koga Plant in 1920, followed by miso and vinegar operations in 1921. A dedicated platform at Koga Station on the Japan National Railway Kagoshima Main Line was established in 1923, and sauce production commenced in 1925. Tianjin Nibishi Shoyu Co., Ltd. was established in 1940, and Japan Food Co., Ltd. was merged in 1948. The headquarters relocated to Sumiyoshi Shrine, Fukuoka in 1949. In 1959, Nibishi Shoyu invented and disclosed the "hands-free koji incubation equipment." The company name was changed to Nibishi Shoyu Co., Ltd. in 1965, and the Yanagawa Plant was consolidated into the Koga Plant in 1970. Nibishi Food Co., Ltd. was integrated in 2008. The company celebrated its centennial anniversary in 2019 and obtained FSSC22000 certification.
