Kawachi Bankan (かわちばんかん / 河内晩柑) is a late-season Japanese citrus discovered in Kumamoto Kawachi area in early 1900s. The OEM positioning is distinctively summer citrus (March-July harvest, filling the gap when most other Japanese citrus is out of season). Mild grapefruit-like flavor. Ehime, Kumamoto, Wakayama are major regions.
